D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

The other side of that yard was indeed sodded right over where the redwood had been. Then they put purple petunias around the edges to match the purple-flowered vine that drapes over the fence. And had a party the next day. It looks quite pretty; I'd normally be sorry for them that despite assiduous watering, their new turf continues to die in a peculiar pattern.

The gigantic ferns at the entrance to the park look burned in places. I'm not sure whether it's from the sun or whether someone let off fireworks too close to them. Across the street, a purple air mattress lies wadded up on the sidewalk next to the bus stop.
