The neighbor who has covered most of her front yard with tiny white stones ripped out the burr clover plant that had sprouted at one corner - perhaps after she saw me photographing it. But apparently overnight, a luxuriant mallow has flowed over much of the sidewalk in front of that yard, with lots and lots of pale purple flowers.

She won't be ripping that mallow all that quick. If it's got that kind of blooms on it already, it's been hiding there for a while and has roots to China.
