One day last week I was walking the dog past the park on the way home when we came upon a plump rat sitting—well, squatting—on the sidewalk. So that is what the dog has been after in that shrubbery. At least it isn't venomous snakes.
The daycamps are really churning up the grass in the park. I parade past almost every day with an exuberant dog while they are playing an almost endless variety of games in two groups. One day they were rolling a huge beachball—looked to be about 6' diameter—up the slope of the circular lawn. Other times they have been doing inscrutable things with different-colored half spheres arranged in lines, or miniature orange traffic cones. The counselors are in yellow or black T-shirts and are very athletic.
