The dog doesn't strike me as terribly hairy, but I washed my sheets and blankie and wow, the huge black mass studded with bits of grass that tried to crawl out the end of the dryer filter; it was practically animate.
It's sunny during the day and the temperature is occasionally climbing up out of the gelid range, but now I have received an e-mail saying it will be a weekend of Save the Air days, so I doubt I'll see the greening hills again for a while.
Took the dog for her first walkies since the weather turned cold. The park was much quieter, and we only saw one squirrel, in the distance. There was police tape around the bushes at the base of one of the big old ficus trees. I thought maybe there was a branch about to drop, but instead saw a pretty little colored sign saying: "There is a bee hive in this area. Please do not disturb the bees."
