An enormous house is rising behind what's left of one of the recently sold ones in the neighborhood, what's left in this case being sticks outlining where the facade corners, roofline and front porch gable were.
There was a city Hallowe'en costume party in the park. We saw lots of kiddies and their parents, it was very cute.
The daughter came as a leopard for Hallowe'en, with a painted-on nose and whiskers and gauzy sleeves. I came all in black. Very few costumed people this year, but we sold quite a lot of merchandise. I kept the store open for an extra hour and changed the clock, since procedurally it happens at 2:00, but the street was dead.
With my current schedule, traffic on El Camino is usually horrendous when I have to get to work. I often wind up taking the express skip-stop bus to Scott, which is where the largely dead strip mall has been replaced by the snazzy Santa Clara Town Centre shopping development. The intersection now has suspended traffic lights in addition to the pole-mounted ones, and pigeons roost behind the colored filters, so that as it cycles from green, to amber, to red, a different pigeon is revealed in silhouette going about housekeeping.
