Found an enormous yellow dead spider adhering to the curtain. Quite spooky.

The housemate's dog had been sleeping determinedly in front of the front door when she was out, but he seems to have realized he was missing stuff, so now he sleeps in the kitchen, where he can catch me exiting via the back door as well as watch the front through the kitchen doorway.
