Over the weekend the housemate discovered a rat in the laundry room, and her dog was not efficacious - she had to let it out herself. (She also thought it was a mouse; I had to explain that we get the native mini-rats here, not the cat-sized Norway rats.) They live in the garage; I hear and sometimes see them skittering along the shelves and up in the rafters when I go in there to get gardening tools or nosh from the freezer. Now she's talking about getting a barn cat or two. That would be truly exciting with the dogs. And not much of a life for the cats.
My grapevine is coming to get you.

And the amaryllises say "Nyah nyah" to the neighbor who knocked down the fence and decapitated one of them. Also, "We are replicating!"
