The laundry worked. It resumed raining. And kept on raining all day, despite a forecast of "showers." I nipped out mid-morning and got misted while ripping rotted stalks of last year's Solomon's sceptre (thanks for the ID,
mdehners) out of the bluebells and cutting back the patch at the corner of the front lawn so that people can again walk down the sidewalk without detouring. (Absolutely all of these are self-sown, I repeat.) The bluebells are starting to show flower-stalks with buds. And the 6th amyrillis is making a try for it after all - small leaves have appeared behind the old stalk.
