Neighbours ripped out their back yard tree the other day. It was a gold medallion tree: evergreen fringy leaves, masses of bright yellow flowers, and it was likely as old as the house. It kept itself to itself behind their new-style high gate across the top of the driveway. Gone into the chipper.
