The internet was up and down bewilderingly, and the neighbor was into his second day of inexplicably having the concrete drilled out next to the fence outside my side window. At least the illegal fireworks didn't start up until an hour after sunset, giving the tabby cat that now appears to stake out the area under the front of the car a chance to scarf the evening's food offering.

No internet all day; two minutes, and then one minute, shortly before I had to pack my lunch and head off to work; the housemate says there were maybe 5 more minutes later in the evening. And I arrived at work to find the a/c had died. I was in long sleeves based on an out-of-date weather forecast (not that the forecast is terribly reliable anyway) and on having fallen over on my way from the express bus stop one night last week and having a scary-looking scab on and below my left elbow that I wanted to spare the customers. Of course if I'd been e-mailed about the need to dress for the beach I wouldn't have received the e-mail anyway. There was a fan blasting the front of the store, but it was pretty hot.
