I'm not at all sure who I'm feeding with the cat food any more. I'm pretty sure the tatty grey cat is gone, poor thing. The mostly white one hangs around our porch an awful lot, including sometimes coming bounding up from the yard when I appear with the dish. And sometimes lets herself be petted. But she seems far too clean and tame to be homeless. And on Tuesday night, since it was my weekend, I checked the feeding station an hour or so after putting out the food; it had been eaten, but then the white cat immediately appeared and tried to cadge a second dishful. I've seen other cats around, and one night recently, what whisked under the car in the driveway when I appeared looked awfully small for an adult cat. So there may be a burgeoning clan. I hope they aren't all homeless.
